Motorhomes and caravans – how to choose
The Fiamma catalogue divides vehicles into two groups:
- Motorhomes and caravans – bodies with a flat side wall and (usually) a flat roof. The awning is fixed directly to the wall (wall awnings, e.g. F45s, F80s) or to the roof with roof adapters. The choice depends on the height and structure of the wall, the length of the side wall and the position of windows, doors and vents. For this group the catalogue provides a QR code leading to the Fiamma vehicle finder (cat. p. 4).
- Van conversions and camper vans – vehicles based on panel vans and minibuses (Fiat Ducato, Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, VW Transporter etc.). For these Fiamma publishes detailed tables: models and dimensions and the fitting chart of brackets, awnings, bike carriers and ladders.
Selection tips:
- Identify brand, model, series and year of the vehicle, plus the length (L) and height (H) version.
- Check the roof equipment (roof rails, roof rack, fixing bars, pop-up roof, panoramic cab rooflight).
- Choose the awning family (wall / roof / manual) – see the awning introduction.
- Select the mounting brackets in the Brackets chapter.
