Rooflights – introduction (pp. 240–242)
Preliminary checks (p. 240)
General information - Before assembly, check that the roof thickness is compatible with the product and that the installation area is clean (use specific products, avoid alcohol-based products) - Before choosing the position, check that the product does not interfere with adjacent accessories (luggage racks, cables, roof reinforcements, cabinets inside) and that the inner and outer roof surfaces are flat
Use and maintenance (p. 240)
General information - Only use sealants suitable for the materials concerned - If not included, use round-head cylindrical screws to avoid damaging the screw seats - Periodically check that all rooflight screws are tight, especially after the first km after installation and before and after long journeys; if the opening device becomes stiff, lubricate it with a few drops of grease. Do not walk on the cover - Before driving, check the rooflight is closed and the cover intact. Do not open it while driving, in strong wind or rain; remove snow and ice. Always respect speed limits and the Highway Code - Clean only with neutral, non-aggressive detergents; for the Crystal cover use an acrylic-glass cleaner and a soft cloth. Never use glass cleaners, all-purpose cleaners, abrasives, dish-washing detergents, alcohol, solvents or corrosive liquids. The mosquito net can be washed with water and neutral detergent - Not suitable for vehicles or trailers intended for animal transport
Installation – milling radius (p. 241)
The drawings on p. 241 give, for each rooflight model, the maximum permissible milling radius for the square installation hole (tolerance 0/+1): Vent 50, Vent F Pro, Vent / Turbo-Vent / Turbo-Vent Premium, Vent 28F (radii R2…R8 as drawn; see the catalogue drawing).
