Water pumps (pp. 269–272)

Preliminary checks and warnings (p. 269)

General information - Mount the pump on a solid surface, in a position convenient for filter cleaning and routine maintenance - The pump can be installed in any position; if vertical, put the motor above the hydraulic part - Mount the pump near the water tank for best performance - Use only cable terminals suited to the power cable diameter; wrong terminals cause voltage drop and heating at the terminal - Sanitise before first use to remove processing residues; check and clean the inlet filter periodically (at the start and end of the season) or when flow is low - In winter storage with temperatures < 0 °C, drain the whole system, especially the pump: disconnect the suction hose and run it for a few minutes until no water comes out of any tap - Sanitise pump and plumbing at least once a year or after long non-use; periodically check hydraulic connections loosened by vibration - Water supplied to Fiamma pumps must be at room temperature, not preheated by other equipment - Fiamma pumps can deliver water over a far greater distance and height than any current camper or motorhome requires

Problem Solution
The pump does not stop Check the supply (at least 12 V); check for leaks in the water circuit
The pump is noisy Check for vibrating pipes; an unstable surface increases noise and vibration; make sure the mounting feet are not over-compressed
The pump runs unevenly Check filter and pipes for obstructions; check the in/out valves for debris and loss of elasticity
The pump does not start Check the electrical connections; check for frozen water in the pump
The pump leaks Check for loose screws in the pressure-switch head or internal membrane; check the membrane for tears

* Angled and straight connectors for 13 mm hoses included. Flow/current-vs-pressure curves (0–2.2 bar) for each model are on p. 271.

General information - Universal expansion tank (membrane pressure accumulator) - Materials: body PA, membrane EPDM; 110 × 100 mm

Technical features - Eliminates the pulsating effect of the pump and supplies a constant flow; extends the life of pump and boiler - Pre-charged at 0.9 bar (13 psi) to suit Fiamma pumps; can be charged via its valve with a normal compressor to suit any pump, max. 8 bar (116 psi) - Horizontal or vertical installation; the internal diaphragm absorbs pressure knocks and stabilises pump operation - Plug with 1/2” thread - Made with KTW-compliant materials - With a non-Fiamma pump whose pressure switch is set higher, increase the pre-charge pressure - Homologations: DM 174/2004, DIN EN 16421, EU 10/2011, DM 21/03/1973
